Our Genmaicha is a blend Sencha green tea with roasted rice grains. The producer is located in kagoshima a village in Kyūshū Island (Japan). This is a popular tea in Japan. The producer’s farm is certified health and environment friendly according to strict Japanese standards, so the ingredients and flavors of the tea are preserved throughout production until the cup.
According to legend, the Genmaicha was accidentally discovered in the 15th century. The servant of a samurai from Hakone province inadvertently dropped grains of rice into his tea bowl and realized that the resulting beverage was delicious.
Freshly harvested green tea leaves are steamed, cooled and dried. The roasted rice grains are then added to the green tea, giving a full-bodied taste and an alluring roast note. The infusion is of great clarity and an intense and exquisite bright green color.
Recipe:
Pour 200ml of hot water at +-90°C into a cup containing 5 grams of tea and leave to infuse for 2 minutes. Depending on your taste, it is possible to make an additional infusion. Good tasting !
